Exchange Place Revitalization – Streetscape Improvements

North Main Street, South Main Street, East Main Street, and Bank Street in Downtown Waterbury

This project upgrades sidewalks, lighting, traffic signals, and pedestrian amenities throughout the Exchange Place area to improve safety, accessibility, and the overall downtown experience. Work includes new sidewalks, benches, trash and recycling receptacles, streetlights, traffic signals, and pedestrian crossing beacons, along with roadway and brickwork improvements.

The contractor, J. Iapaluccio, completed improvements from the Travel Center area and the Buckingham Garage Basement at the intersection of Bank Street and Grand Street. They also completed improvements from I-84 East/Route 8 South entrance ramp to Grand Street. They are currently working in the area between Bank Street North and the intersection of Grand Street and East Main Street, working on basement repairs.
