                                    130 Freight Street – After

•$1.5M has been allocated by CT DECD for the demolition of buildings comprising 130 Freight Street.

•The City took ownership of this site on October 21st, 2020 and developed an ITB, per State guidelines, for demolition.

•A contract was awarded to Costello Dismantling company and the demolition work for 130 Freight Street was completed on April 8, 2021.

•The RFP was advertised for Professional Environmental Services for 130 Freight St and 000 West Main Street and a mandatory meeting was held on October 20th, 2021.

•$2 million from DECD’s Brownfield Municipal Grant Program and $200,000 by way of an NVCOG Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund (BCRLF) capitalization grant from the U.S. Recognizing the need for more funds to continue the revitalization of this parcel, the City/WDC will also apply for additional EPA Brownfield Clean-Up.
