This project transformed a long-vacant fire-damaged property in the Brooklyn neighborhood into a new community recreational space. The site previously held commercial buildings that were destroyed by fire in 2012. The City acquired and remediated the property, clearing the way for construction of a public park to support neighborhood recreation needs.

Work Included:
• Environmental cleanup and site remediation
• Demolition of unsafe, fire-damaged structures
• Construction of new recreational park space
• Installation of park amenities for community use

• Approved by Board of Aldermen in May 2021
• Contractor mobilized July 2021
• Substantial completion December 2021
