Over the last several decades, there has been a movement on both the State and Local levels to address economic development on a regional level. The end-goal of regionalization would ensure that municipalities could have access to services, funding, and working knowledge of State Incentives and Programs while also keeping costs low. Efforts for regionalization have made little progress in Connecticut.
NVRDC is a designated 501(c)4 that was re-established in 2020. It is one of the first organizations of its kind in the State. NVRDC can help municipalities overcome hurdles associated with regionalization and provide access to long-term services. Currently, NVRDC services two municipalities: Naugatuck and Waterbury.
