Library Park is a major downtown civic space used for public events, recreation, and community gatherings. Phase I of the improvement project focused on modernizing the park grounds and underlying utilities to make the space more functional, safe, and attractive.

Location: Library Park, Grand Street, Waterbury
Status: Completed (2021)

Work Included:
• Relocated above-ground electrical utilities
• Installed modern irrigation system
• Replaced lawn with fiber-reinforced sod
• Added new sidewalks and walkways
• Installed new lighting poles and benches
• Added trees and landscape plantings
• Built new entryways from Grand Street
